If You Need Gift Ideas for a Grieving Pet Owner, We Can Help
It’s hard to know what to do when a friend or family
experiences the loss of a pet. Some of us will send loss of pet e-cards, some
of us will want to go a step further - a pet loss gift. But what do you give?
We’ll give you some gift ideas for grieving pet owners.
If you have a bigger budget, a pet memorial garden stone is
a beautiful idea. The garden stone can be inscribed with comforting words, or
information about the pet. The stones are made from various weather resistant
materials and can be placed outside. A garden stone can truly console a
grieving heart.
Another option that’s less expensive that I’ve received and
I found so touching was a pet memorial ornament. These are usually a little
less personalized, but whenever I look at my Christmas tree I see my pet, and
remember she’s at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for me. The rest of the year, I
have the ornament on the mantle where it continually comforts me.
Another gift you might think about is a book or poem to
help your friend or loved one cope and ease them through the grieving process.
There's a lovely book by Dr. Wallace Sife called "The Loss of a Pet, A Guide to
Coping with the Grieving Process when a Pet Dies" that anyone would find very
helpful and comforting. You can purchase it
here.
The least expensive option would be to send a sympathy
card. You could send a physical card or an e-card for pet loss. Neither is
easy to find, but you will find some in the links below. They provide a way for
you to send your sympathies and your friend knows how much you care.
